Wrington Hill Enjoyable Tippling Society nearly Show
Saturday, 9th September, 2006
Not to be eclipsed by the previous week's Wrington show, most of the residents of Wrington Hill – the Wrington Hill Enjoyable Tippling Society (WHETS) held a highly successful 'Nearly a Village Show' on Saturday 9 September, hosted at Park Cottage.

Fancy dress was encouraged and there were over a hundred entries to some mildly surreal classes that included
'Is it Veg or is it Art?',
'Best Weed Arrangement in a Vase',
'The Odd Couple - Worst Matched Pair
                                      (fruit or veg)',
'It's a Big Un',
'An Interesting Loaf',
'6 Unusual Fairy Cakes',
'Surprise in a Matchbox' and
'A Mini Rubbish Pile'.

A WHETS poetry competition provided a glimmer of insight into life 'on the hill', whilst passing aircraft perhaps inspired designs for the fiercely competed paper plane competition…

Games, a treasure hunt, brilliant warm sunshine … and the odd tipple … completed the picture.
