Sack racing mums,
wellie throwing dads and aspiring young David Beckhams
attempting to kick footballs through tyres...
it was all part of Redhill's
celebration of
Father's Day, 15 June, run by the Village Hall and Club.

Over 70 local people took part in the event, held at the village Rec, which
also featured Wrington's newest band, "Out of the Blue", playing their first
live set and climaxed with a "Mums versus Dads" rounders game.

"The whole day was perfect," said organiser Tony Watts, "with children of
all ages taking part - and handfuls of dolly mixture for the prizes.

"The competitive instincts that always come out on these occasions meant
that there was more than a threat of violence in the air with the "Dads
Musical Chairs", and the skullduggery used by the Mums to win the rounders
game proved that the gentler sex can also be the sneakiest. "
