Wrington Twinning Association is hosting early in May the visit of a football team of 15 year-olds from Villeneuve-lès-Béziers to play a match against a local side.

Although the numbers are not yet finally fixed, we are expecting up to 25 visitors, of which some 18 will be teenage boys and the rest accompanying adults. We must not expect a very high level of competence in English, although hopefully there will be some English speakers.
Our friends from Villeneuve will arrive at Bristol airport on Wednesday May 6th and leave on Sunday May 10th. The match will probably be played on the Saturday afternoon.
During the stay of our guests our association has to transport, house, feed and entertain them. We have some funds available for the project but we shall, to a great extent, be relying on the hospitality of our members and other local people.

This is therefore an appeal for help. It is also an opportunity for our members to be in contact with visitors from Villeneuve, to participate in the association's activities and to render a service to the community.

We particularly need your help with the following:

Providing accommodation in or near Wrington. Might you be able to accommodate one or more of the young footballers or their adult travelling companions for the 4 nights? If so, would you be prepared to provide them with breakfast and (if necessary) and evening meal?

Might you be able to help with transport by ferrying visitors in your car? This would especially involve meeting them at the airport on the Wednesday afternoon, possibly some local transportation around Wrington during their stay and returning them to the airport on the Sunday.

Could you help with entertaining them? The committee is organising activities for the daytime, but some additional helpers, especially if they speak some French, would be very welcome. The committee is also proposing to organise some evening events and again, suggestions for activities and offers of help will be appreciated.

If you feel you can be involved in any of the above, please let us know how you would like to help. If you can offer accommodation, for how many would this be and would you like to welcome young footballers or their adult companions? What, if any, meals can you provide (it is assumed that you would provide breakfast). Do you have any knowledge of the French language? Are you able to help with transport?

To register your interest please contact our Chairman Frank Finn, giving him as much information as possible about what you would like to do and not forgetting to give him your contact details (including your postal address). You can contact him by email on <Ffinn@groupvision.net> or by telephone on 01275 472081.
