Sustain Charity Team running in London Marathon
Four local lads from the Wrington based company Sustain are currently training hard for the London Marathon.
Simon Gait, Ashley Frost, Adrian Warman and Paul Brown are all running on behalf of local charity The South West Children's Heart Circle (www.heartcircle.org).
The charity provides support for children and their families, before, during and after cardiac surgery in
the Bristol Royal Children's Hospital.
They provide funding for equipment that would not normally be available on the NHS as well as support such as provision of local caravan holidays providing breaks for families within safe travelling distance of the hospital. These things can make a real difference to the children.
The Sustain runners are aiming to raise £5000 and have been raising money in a variety of ways (including selling bacon butties at work on a Friday morning - not a bad little earner). We're doing well but if anyone would like to help by sponsoring us we would be very grateful of your support.
Please visit our Justgiving page at: www.justgiving.com/sustainltd or call in at Sustain at Barleywood
Stables or visit Simon at: 11 the Cottages, Station Road, Wrington.
Between us we should cover about 1500 miles during the training, and so far we've all been out on many a dark winter evening enduring wind, rain, ice and snow. Our knees ache and we've picked up the odd injury and cold along the way. Any help encouraging us over the finishing line on the big day on 26 April would be very much appreciated.
