The end of the school year approaches but things are as busy as ever at school.

We completed a very successful Green Travel Week in May; all children tried to find an eco friendly way to travel to school. This was chosen instead of "Walk to School" week as some children live too far away to walk safely to school. The options chosen were walk, cycle, school bus or park and walk the rest of the way. All classes achieved high percentages of eco friendly journeys. The stars of the week were Year 3 with an impressive total of 91% Green Travel.

Wrington was pleased to receive a Healthy Schools Award. We interviewed Mrs Thomas who said "I am absolutely delighted, it reflects the commitment of our children, parents and staff to a healthy lifestyle". The North Somerset Healthy Schools Specialists commented on the way all the children, staff and parents worked together to achieve this award. They were particularly impressed with our Golden Rules and the way they are evident throughout the school.

This week has been taken up with the travelling book fair. A truly amazing deal of buy 2 books and get one free ensured that the helpers were rushed off their feet each evening and many of the books sold out and had to be re- ordered. This is good news for reading at school as our keen readers have earned the school some commission which will provide more books for the school library.

Sadly this is the last entry from this year's Year Six class as we are all off to secondary school in September. We have had great fun researching our articles and hope you have enjoyed reading them. We are sure that Year Five will do a great job when they take over next year.

Thanks for reading our efforts -
Molly, Fred, Nic, Joe, Libby, Joseph, Rachel and all in Year Six.
