How can our services help you? ...and an invitation!

Did You Know that you can book appointments on line? If you have access to the internet, why not register for the Internet Access service to make appointments on
line. Simply speak to a receptionist who will provide you with your unique details and your Access PIN number so you can register for the service.

When booking on line you will be offered a selection of appointments which are available up to 4 days in advance. This means you can avoid the 8.30 am early morning rush on the telephone …

Did You Know that you can book appointments with any doctor or nurse in advance? We constantly analyse demand for appointments and try to flex the balance between booking in advance and booking on the day to meet the different needs of our 9,200 patients. The current pattern of appointments provides the majority of appointments available to book in advance :

A proportion available for booking up to 2 weeks in advance

A proportion available for booking 2 days in advance

A proportion available for booking on the day

We hope the balance will help us meet the range of patient demands as far as possible. Inevitably there are times when all the prebookable appointments with a particular doctor have been used up : in such circumstances, if you wish to have an appointment with that particular doctor, you may have to phone back.

Did You Know that we offer appointments from 6.30 in the morning through till 8 pm every Tuesday? We offer these Extended Hours appointments at Churchill surgery with three doctors. Some of these appointments can be booked in advance and some are available to book on the day. This is to provide flexibility and convenience for those patients who find it hard to get to the Surgery during the normal working day.

Did You Know that we offer telephone appointments with doctors and nurses for those problems which don't necessarily require a face to face consultation? You might find it a convenient way of getting advice from the doctor or nurse.

Did You Know that you can order your repeat medication via the internet? You might find it convenient to order your medication via email.

We do need to advise you that the internet is not a secure means of communication, so you need to be aware of the possible risks involved if you choose this method of ordering your repeat medication. Email prescriptions@wringtonvale.co.uk

Please be aware : we do need 2 working days' notice to process your request. Try not to leave it till the last minute - we process literally thousands of requests for repeat
medication items each week…

Did You Know that we have a Patient Group (PPP : Practice Patient Partnership)? The Practice Patient Partnership (PPP) was set up in 2005 and a committed group of individuals have given a lot of time and energy to helping the Practice and its
patients. For instance, it's due to the efforts of the PPP that we still have our district nurses based locally, and it's due to feedback from patients via the PPP that the Surgeries started remaining open throughout the day for your convenience.

We'd like as many people as possible to get involved in the PPP. It's not necessarily about getting involved as a full Committee member: you can be an invaluable resource by simply agreeing to act as a channel of communication between the Practice and local people. If you are involved in any kind of local group or club, you could be particularly useful in providing a useful two-way communication channel between local people and the Practice team trying to serve and care for them to the best of our ability.

If you're
interested in getting involved in this way, please just contact Jose Tarnowski, Practice Manager, on 01934 854041 jose.tarnowski@gp-L81086.nhs.uk

And an
invitation to an Open Evening Meeting. Working with the PPP, the Practice
is constantly seeking ways to make sure our services are as helpful, efficient and caring as possible.

Having good two-way communications with our patient population is essential to help us achieve this. To this end, we're arranging an open evening meeting some time in November, at a local venue.

This will be your opportunity to have a dialogue with the doctors and others in the Practice team about anything you would like to raise about the Practice and its services. If you're interested in coming along : Watch out for further details about
date and venue on our website and in local publicity Think about anything you would like raised at the meeting: let us know in advance, either by email through the
website contact link, or by dropping a note into the Suggestion Box at either Surgery

We hope you enjoy what is left of the (?) summer …
