We were extremely lucky to have such a glorious day for the Garden Trail, especially considering how mixed the weather has been. We opened 20 gardens, did 67 lunches and 120 teas. We had jazz on the hill and other delights. We raised £1400 for the Tower Fund.
What I like best about the occasion is seeing people wandering round the village, clutching their programmes and enjoying themselves seeing behind all those hedges, gates and walls. Another nice thing about the day is that it is amazing value - for £4.50. Of course, none of it could happen without the generosity of the owners in opening up their gardens and giving up the whole day to take people round. Again, the lunches and teas would not happen without a team of helpers. My thanks to everyone concerned.
