Introduction
The Digital Imaging Course 2010 It is planned to give a Digital Imaging Course during academic year 2010-2011 in the Cyber Room, Wrington (across the car park from the Memorial Hall). The first part of the course will take place during October 2010 for four weeks, and the second part of the course will take place after New Year 2011 and as yet to be arranged. There will be eight sessions at a cost of £32 (to cover room and facilities). The dates for the October sessions are Wednesdays, 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th October 2010. The times will be from 10am to 12 noon. Please bring your own laptops if possible (we only have limited facilities in the Cyber Room these days). Initially, we shall examine the FREE digital imaging software available via the internet, and download two such offerings. We shall then examine the basics of digital imaging, and discover you own requirements. I can then fit my formal talks around these. This will be the format of the first session :- FREE software, and downloads; An Introduction to Digital Imaging; Common basic techniques (Common to most packages); finally a review of your requirements. Please email me if you wish to attend, at ian.parsons@virgin.net
Cyber Reading Room Courses Because of the drop in demand, and for other reasons, the Committee regretfully decided to discontinue the regular weekly courses from September, 2009. Depending on demand, it may be possible for Ian Parsons to run his Photoshop masterclass again as an occasional course, and Henry Finch offers introductory tuition on an individual basis. Anyone interested can ring 862646, or e-mail web@wrington.info
Use of Cyber Room IT facilities The Cyber Room will loantheir LCD projector for use with borrowrs' own laptops or DVD players at £10 a time to cover cost of replacement bulbs. A suitable projection stand and screen may also be borrowed at no charge. Borrowers are entirely responsible for loss or damage, and for ensuring the projector is set up and used only by an experienced operator.
