All Saints', Wrington  Church Crawl to Muchelney

The final church crawl of the 2000 season was an afternoon trip to Muchelney - to the Benedictine abbey and parish church of SS Peter & Paul close by.
.The extant part of the abbey is the Abbot's quarters, where the English Heritage staff of the shop give a briefing to parties of visitors .....
... with an audience of wicker birds and animals in addition to the human variety

Opposite the church is the National Trust-owned late mediaeval Priest's House, built by the abbey, as was the church, for the villagers
	The church itself boasts a number of remarkable features, including a rare barrel organ, in perfect working order ....
.... a superb tiled floor originally in the 12C Lady Chapel of the abbey .....	..... and a remarkable Tudor ceiling of     painted panels of "uninhibited" angels
