| Common Worship Rite 'B' ceased to be an authorised service in the Church of England from 1st January, 2001, and the PCC undertook a major review of our services. They decided to adopt the new Common Worship service in contemporary language for use in church from Advent Sunday. This replaced Rite 'B' at all services of Holy Communion except the 1662 celebration at 8am on the second Sunday of the month, which will not be affected. Evensong continues to use the 1662 prayerbook. The order of service booklets for the Eucharist reflect the seasons of the church year, with prayers appropriate to the season, whilst retaining the same basic structure. |
