All Saints', Wrington
Parish supper, Saturday, 30th October, 2004

There were one or two innovations at the parish supper in the Memorial Hall this year, not least that it was the first for our rector, Nicholas Maddock. So, in addition, to welcoming him to the event, churchwarden David Parkes passed on a little bit of history in the shape of one of eight teapots given by one of Nicholas' predecessors, the Rev John Vane, to the Women's Friendly Society. This one, since the the society disbanded, is given into the safe keeping of the rector "for the time being".
Then there was the delightful playing after supper by the North Somerset clarinet ensemble, a very talented group of pupils from local schools under the direction of their equally enthusiastic tutor....
... richly deserving of our applause.
